DM Tracker can send notifications straight to your Telegram, so you never have to keep the app open to know when a lead replies or when a follow-up is due. You get a ping the moment a contact messages you, plus a once-a-day summary of everyone you need to follow up with.
This article covers how to connect Telegram, what each notification looks like, how to choose who you get notified about, and how to pause or disconnect.
What you'll get
Once Telegram is connected, DM Tracker can send you two kinds of alerts:
New messages: a notification the moment one of your contacts replies on Instagram.
Follow-ups due: a single daily summary of the contacts you need to follow up with, grouped by stage.
Connecting Telegram
You connect Telegram once:
Open DM Tracker and go to Settings → Notifications.
On the Telegram card, flip the toggle on.
A Connect Telegram window appears. Click Open Telegram.
Telegram opens to our bot, @dmtracker_app_bot. Press Start.
Come back to DM Tracker. Within a few seconds the window closes on its own and the card shows Connected as @yourusername.
That's it. You'll see your notification options appear right below the Telegram card.
Tip: On a phone, the Open Telegram button launches the Telegram app directly. On a computer, it opens Telegram in a new tab (or the desktop app if you have it installed). If nothing happens, click Try again in the window to generate a fresh link.
Choosing who you get notified about
Under Whose contacts, you decide which contacts trigger your alerts. This is set separately for each organization.
My contacts: contacts assigned to you. This is always included and can't be turned off.
Add specific teammates contacts: use the Add people or everyone… search to also get notified about contacts assigned to chosen teammates.
Everyone in this organization: get notified about every contact across the whole team.
So if you only want alerts for your own leads, leave it on My contacts. If you manage a team, add the teammates you want to keep an eye on, or switch to everyone.
What the notifications look like
New message alert
When one of your contacts replies, you get a message like this within about a second:
[Acme Co • acmehq] New reply from @janedoe "Hey, is that offer still available?" [ Open in Instagram ] [ Open in DM Tracker ]
The top line shows the organization and the Instagram account the message came in on.
You get a preview of what the contact said.
Open in Instagram takes you straight to the conversation (the DM thread on mobile, the profile on desktop).
Open in DM Tracker opens your contacts in the app.
Daily follow-up summary
Once a day, you get a single summary of everyone due for a follow-up, grouped by organization and follow-up stage:
📋 Daily follow-up summary Acme Co — Total of 7 due 1st Follow-up (Day 1) - @janedoe (2d overdue) - @marco_b and 3 more 2nd Follow-up (Day 3) - @lisa_k [ Open board ]
Contacts are grouped by their follow-up stage, with up to 10 names per stage.
A (2d overdue) marker shows how many days a follow-up is past due.
The summary is scheduled for 6 pm UTC.
Pausing notifications
To pause every Telegram alert for an organization, flip the Telegram toggle off at the top of the panel. Your connection stays in place, so you can switch it back on anytime without reconnecting. The Disconnect button stays available so you can fully unlink if you want.
