⚡ What This Guide Covers
✅ Check if your automation flow triggered in ManyChat
✅ Confirm your authentication setup is correct
✅ Verify your Default Reply settings
✅ Test your connection again
Step 0: Check your Instagram connection to Manychat
Make sure your connection to your Instagram account is active. Instagram can unexpectedly lose the connection to your page permissions. If you encounter any trouble, like content not sending or setting not saving, always refresh your permissions first.
🪜 Step 1: Check if the Flow Triggered in ManyChat
First, make sure the imported DM Tracker Flow actually ran at least once after you messaged the DM Tracker Bot.
How to check:
In ManyChat, go to Settings → Default Reply Flow
Open the DM Tracker flow you imported during onboarding
See if there are any entries listed under “Execution Events”
🟢 If you see events:
Your flow triggered at least once — great! Continue to Step 2.
🔴 If no events:
Your flow was never triggered. This usually means it’s not set as your Default Reply for Instagram.
Fix it:
Go to Settings → Instagram → Default Reply
Choose your DM Tracker Flow
Change the frequency to Every Time (not “Once per 24 hours”)
Then run the DM Tracker connection test again.
🪜 Step 2: Authentication Setup
If none of the connection checks are completed, it means the contact (DM Tracker Bot) never reached DM Tracker.
Let’s check the Logs in ManyChat.
How to check:
In ManyChat, go to Settings → Logs
Filter by date/time of your setup attempt
Look for red error messages related to the DM Tracker webhook
Common errors you may see:
Invalid organization_id
Invalid or missing auth_token
Error 401 Unauthorized
These mean your bot fields were not correctly set.
Fix it: Continue to Step 3.
🪜 Step 3: Verify Bot Field Values in Settings
Still inside ManyChat:
Go to Settings → Fields → Bot Fields
Make sure both fields exist and contain the correct values. Here is an example of how it needs to look. Please use your own auth token and organization ID:
Make sure the bot fields are added correctly in your Default Reply flow
Go to Settings → Instagram → Default Reply
Click "Edit"
Click the last node in the flow and open the API call by clicking the URL:
Make sure the bot fields are set correctly in the request; therefore you need to check:
🪜 Step 4: Run the Test Connection Again
Back in DM Tracker:
Go to your Connection step
Send again "Ready" to the DM Tracker Bot
